From Decision‑Maker to First Auditor

Sep 24

On September 16, 2026, Xsolis announced that its AI platform had surpassed 10 billion predictions, including level‑of‑care, medical necessity, and discharge planning recommendations. Health systems using the platform include Providence, Beacon Health System, and AnMed.

Xsolis frames these predictions as decision support for nurses, care managers, and utilization management teams.

In practice, the AI makes a determination that is framed as a recommendation, and the nurse is responsible for auditing that determination for accuracy.

Xsolis has been deployed across major health systems:

  • Providence first deployed Xsolis in October 2023 at eight hospitals in Oregon, with plans to expand to 28 more facilities.

  • Beacon Health System first implemented it in May 2019 and expanded in 2025 to add a generative AI tool for medical necessity reviews.

  • AnMed implemented it in January 2023 and has since expanded its use, per a March 2026 update.

At Beacon, the director of utilization review said the technology let her team support 140% more patients a day, and in the GenAI pilot, average initial review time dropped from 15 minutes to 4.7 minutes. That's the throughput shift in real numbers.

What this means for nurses

Nurses are no longer the first decision‑makers.
They are now the first auditors.

The AI makes the call.
The nurse checks the call.
And the workflow moves forward based on that check.

This is the restructuring:
nursing judgment is being repositioned from originating decisions to validating machine‑generated ones.
